Maintenance Guide for Curly Wigs – How to comb, style, wash and care for them?

Curly hair is a popular and beautiful wig. However, the drier the environment, the more curly the wig will become, resulting in curls and rough. Because of their uniqueness, these curly wigs need special treatment, as they require more moisture and nutrients. Here are some tips on maintaining curly wigs:

1- How to comb a curly wig?

Keep your curly hair loose and loose whenever necessary. If you wear a wig to bed every day (warning: we are a professional wig company and do not recommend it), wash your hair every day. If you don’t wear a wig, wash your hair every three to three days.

Treatment of curly wig entanglement

Comb from bottom to top, section by section. Pay attention to the height of the roots and neck of your hair. These areas are easier to rub and therefore more likely to tangle. First, run a simple finger through the hair, then use a wide toothed comb or similar brush to brush the hair into a straight line to remove dry, fallen hair. During this process you need to keep an eye on the neck and other areas that are prone to friction. Then you don’t hesitate to moisten your hair (use moisturizer, smooth, activating spray or water) so your wig is easy to smooth.

2- How do you make a curl?

Spray your hair to keep it moist. Moisture restores frizz to hair. To solve these problems, you’ll need special styling creams and scrunchies that will hold your hair in place once it dries.

If wet hair doesn’t return to frizz, twist it back into its original state with your fingers. Adjust the amount and tightness of hair on your fingers to get the desired frizz effect. Action on a small area of hair often results in tight curls, with larger areas showing a fluffy wavy or wavy appearance.

3- How to clean curly wigs?

Your daily use of bubbles, creams, skincare products, serums, oils, etc. can take the breath away from your hair, leaving it greasier and less of a glamorous volume. Instead of curling, they intertwine. Therefore, the wig must be cleaned. Be sure to unwrap the entanglements and keep an eye on the roots before cleaning. If the wound is not solved but blindly cleaning, the situation will be more serious.

A shampoo product for cleaning curly wigs

If you wear a wig every day and sleep in it, you can wash it once a week. If not, clean it every two to four weeks.

When cleaning, please use:

– No sulfuric acid soft shampoo, no para-hydroxybenzoic acid, this will not damage hair.

– An conditioner used to break down fibers.

– Hair mask used to moisturize wigs. Do this for 15 to 30 minutes. You can choose the Avanti Silicone Blend Mask or the fragrance Mask.

4- How to dry curly wigs after washing?

After washing your hair, use a towel to blot the moisture out of your hair. Spread the wig out with your fingers, then arrange the hair any way you like. Use linen glue to make your hair frizz again. If you don’t particularly dislike the smell of cabbage (which will soon go away), you can also use broccoli oil, which is effective in reducing frizziness. If needed, use your comb and your hands to rebrush the curly hair. If you want to see results, air dry it or use a hair dryer (cool). Hot air can cause hair to swell and damage its texture.

5- How can you make a curly wig shine again?

Does the wig look rough? Will they tarnish and look more knotted? Apply a little coconut oil to the ends of your hair. The substance can be used to wrap your hair and protect it with the lauric acid it contains. Light plant essential oils like Jojoba oil work well for this type of hair.
